Terms of Service

General Information & Operations

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Pouta Headless CMS platform, including the self-hosted software code, the managed SaaS Free hosting service, and the paid SaaS Pro subscriptions.

The service is operated by Osuuskunta Vinde, based out of the European Union. By installing the self-hosted version, registering for a free account, or subscribing to our Pro tier, you accept and agree to be bound by these terms in full.

Section 1

Open Source Self-Hosting & Zero Liability

The Pouta core software is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPLv3). You are fully permitted to download, build, modify, and host your own instance of Pouta on your personal or commercial Cloudflare account (including Cloudflare Workers, Pages, D1 SQL databases, and R2 object storage buckets).

CRITICAL EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY: Since you control the Cloudflare environment where the self-hosted instance resides, Pouta Dev holds absolutely zero responsibility or liability for:
  • Security vulnerabilities resulting from improper environment variable configuration.
  • Unauthorized access, data loss, corruption, or destruction in your Cloudflare D1 or R2 buckets.
  • Unanticipated monthly fees, resource overages, or billing invoices issued by Cloudflare, Inc.
  • System downtime, edge outages, caching inconsistencies, or workflow disruptions.

Operational support for self-hosted installations is community-driven. No service level agreements (SLAs) or direct technical support guarantees are provided.

Section 2

SaaS Free Tier & Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Pouta offers a managed "SaaS Free" tier hosted on our own Cloudflare multi-tenant edge infrastructure. This tier is designed to give developers and small projects immediate access to the block-editor interface without managing their own Cloudflare resources.

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

To protect our shared serverless resources, D1 database workloads, and Workers compute time, you are strictly prohibited from:

  • Injecting automated headless scrapers or massive volume cron jobs into our admin API endpoints.
  • Initiating distributed denial of service (DDoS) simulations, load-testing scripts, or security penetration tests without written consent.
  • Hosting malicious scripts, phishing interfaces, or database architectures designed to overload shared database locks.
No SLA / Uptime Warranties: The SaaS Free tier is provided strictly on an "as-available" basis. We reserve the right to deploy updates, execute migrations, reset test environments, rate-limit API keys, or suspend free accounts immediately and without notice in the event of platform abuse.
Section 3

SaaS Pro Tier Commercial Agreements

The Pouta SaaS Pro subscription provides premium edge integrations, advanced AI text generation and translation, automatic accessibility alt-text creation, and larger resources for 9 EUR per month (plus applicable VAT/taxes based on your country).

Billing & Renewal Cycles Subscriptions are billed immediately upon signup and automatically renew on the same day each subsequent month. Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
Immediate Self-Serve Cancellation You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation is fully self-serve and accessible via the Stripe Customer Portal on the Support page. Upon cancellation, your access remains active until the end of your billing cycle.

No refunds or partial credits are provided for unused portions of billing cycles unless required under EU consumer rights.

Section 4

Fair Use Policy for "Unlimited" Cloudflare R2 Storage

Pouta SaaS Pro includes "Unlimited Cloudflare R2 image storage". This policy is designed to let developers scale real website and blog assets without worrying about complex bandwidth or storage pricing calculations.

Definition of Unlimited Storage: "Unlimited storage" refers specifically to standard, normal CMS operations. This includes editorial images, article covers, product mockups, and layout assets uploaded through the Pouta Block Editor.

Prohibited Activities & Storage Misuse

You are strictly prohibited from using our R2 storage buckets for:

  • Bulk automated image uploads using scrapers, programmatic spiders, or bot scripts.
  • General cloud backups, personal computer backups, hard-drive archives, or non-CMS file storage.
  • Using the service as an external public file-sharing CDN, media streaming distributor, or high-bandwidth file distribution platform.
  • Uploading illegal content, copyrighted files for which you lack authorization, or malicious binaries.

Pouta Dev reserves the sole and exclusive right to review storage metrics and suspend, limit, or terminate accounts that violate this Fair Use Policy or generate disproportionate infrastructure costs that threaten system stability.

Section 5

EU Consumer Protection & Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your SaaS subscription within 14 days of your initial purchase without giving any reason.

Immediate Service Provision Consent: When you purchase SaaS Pro, you explicitly request and consent to the immediate activation of all Pro services (including AI features and premium R2 storage). You acknowledge that if you begin using the active AI services or upload assets within the 14-day window, you waive your right of withdrawal for the fully consumed services.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, please cancel self-serve through the billing portal or contact us at moha@mohanjith.net. If eligible, your refund will be processed within 14 days of receiving your request.
